RAYalicious Surprise Day!!!

13 January 2007.....Wai Theng and I (Lena) asked Uncle Weng out for dinner at Vivo City. Just like any other day, he happily agreed without suspecting what was installed for him for the rest of the night. It took the whole lot of us, great pain & effort in planning the GREAT surprise.

Yummy yummy food that we ordered from Food Republic Foodcourt.

The initial plan for the night was to have a feast at the nostalgic Food Republic and a movie. Such programmes would definately bored our uncle to death, especially when his birthday was the next day. Moreover, it will simply tarnish my reputation as an "Event Organiser" (quotes from Roy, Yanwei & Co.) hahaha... So I came out with a lie...

A WHITE LIE

In order to get Uncle to the real destination of the night, the real drama mama story began to unfold.... My Oscar's Award acting....

"Hey! Alex (a friend of mine whom he met before) is in trouble, he need me to send him some money at a KTV in Orchard. Do you think you can accompany me to go as I'm not too sure hows the place is like?" (with a panicky voice & look)

Together with Wai Theng's brilliant acting, there we were, at Orchard Party World. Needless to say, Raymond's jaw dropped open when I opened the door. Instead of S'pore Ah Bengs & Ah Sengs, friends from our lalaland school, Ban Hoe, Cabrina, Karen, Norman and most importantly, his gay partner, Peter were the people whom he saw. Uncle was in consternation when everybody send their birthday wishes to him. Of course, the best gift of the night was the presence of Peter, someone whom he always talk about.

Strike a pose- TWIST

Lets sing uncle a birthday song... ...

Happy Birthday to you,

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to Raymond,

Happy Birthday to you!

Sovil Titus- a gift from us...

The Best Shot Of The Night...

What a passionate singing with all his heart and LUNGS!!!

Once again, Happy happy birthday, Uncle Weng... ... Hope that this special & dramatic night is one of your most memorable day in your life...

Special Thanks

The settting of this blog is especially dedicated to Uncle Weng and Wai Theng. Sending a million thanks and hugs to you for all the painstaking effort in planning all the fantastic activities on 5 January 2007, a day of fun-filled programmes for me.

Being kept in the dark, I was not told about the day's programmes. I was in a state of feverish anticipation while guessing what I would be doing for that day.

My itinary for that day:
7.15am I was picked up by Uncle Weng.
7.45am We went to pick up Wai Theng.
8.30am We reached East Coast Park.

Here was my first surprise of the day. My sweetheart, Wai Theng had prepared some really yummy snacks. I'm sooooooooo touched by her as she woke up at 5 plus in the morning to prepare the food while Uncle Weng prepared a bottle of hot Earl's Grey tea. A wonderful breakfast by the beach, as the foamy waves splashed gently on the shore, with my best pals... ...

The second surprise, the best one, was when I accidentally kicked the ball into the sea. All of us panicked and refused to get ourselves wet. Hence, we waited and hoped that the waves will send the ball back but in contary, we watched the ball drifted away in the big open sea. Our, forever kind and sweet Wai Theng panicked when Uncle proclaimed that he was going to get the ball. As for me, I went to take my camera to take the best shots when I heard Uncle said, " Don't worry! I swam 1000m depth before." (hahaha) If not, you won't get to see the photo of a man plunging into the icy-cold water to "save" the ball.

Oh! Look at the faraway ships... ...

Best shot of the year- Splish Splosh Splash!!!

Of course, my wonderful day did not just end with a picnic at the beach. More surprises and exciting activities were to come.... ...

Went to K box for our KTV from 11am-2pm. Wai Theng and I were trying different positions to get the best lighting effect for cheesy photo-taking while uncle just slacked at one corner saying that we were crazy and childish. Come on Uncle Weng! Get some grOOve man!

Went to catch the movie, "Blood Diamond" at GV Marina, after a good 3 hours of K song. A great movie in saving all the men out there from splurging in buying diamonds for their girlfriends or wives but diamond lovers might frown upon. Did my day just stop here?

of course NOT!

I was told to go home and get change for dinner and perhaps, a party. Until then, I was still kept in suspense of the dining venue. It was a mad rush as Wai Theng and I had to wash up and get ready in less than 45 minutes. She didn't even have the time to go home but thankfully, she was able to wear my skirt, without the skirt falling off. Hmmm... it shows that I'm not that fat after all. (hee) Despite the crazy rush, to my delight, Cabrina and Norman had joined us for the dinner. In the car, I was just like a child, at fever pitch, looking out the car window while guessing where on earth were we heading for our dinner. After an arduous car ride (thankie Cabrina), we finally reached.... ....

Yes... there we were... ... at the Night Safari!!!! I was certainly touched by this group of friends. You guys really rock, spicing up my mundane life at our lalaland school.

The Award Winning Photo of the night... ...

(Wohahahaha!!!! Yummy yummy french fries and ice-cream!!!)

After biding farewell to Cabrina and Norman at around 11pm, I was taken to my last stop of the night, Movida at St James Power Station, my favourite club. Yuppy!!! Though only the three of us there, our partying spirit hasn't been low. We had so much fun and dance.

We ended this tiring but definately an exciting and enjoyable day at 4 am. Once again, my heartfelt thanks are especially extended to Cabrina, Norman, Raymond and Wai Theng. This is definately one of the best day of my life and this memory will be etched in my mind for life. Thank you guys!
